Dr. Shashi Bhushan Singh is a distinguished expert with a blend of technical, academic and administrative competence in materials, manufacturing, and management, with over 4 decades of experience, including director roles at DRDO (Defense R&D Organisation). As an Outstanding Scientist & former Director of the Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL), Institute of Technology Management (ITM), and also as a Principal Associate Director of Vehicle Research & Dev Establishment (VRDE), DRDO, he has spearheaded critical R&D projects in defence technology, materials science, and manufacturing innovations. He has played a pivotal role in technology development, project management, strategic planning, and leadership training for DRDO and the Indian Armed Forces. His expertise spans metallurgy, foundry technology, rapid prototyping, process optimisation, and product development, with multiple patents and publications to his credit. He has provided support to AI Products group, Rapid prototyping and manufacturing of Drone and other products.
Some of his achievements include facilitating leadership coaching, team building & mentoring 100+ scientists and technical officers of various projects. He has partnered with various government bodies and the Department of Ministry of Defenses for strategic new initiatives & decision-making on futuristic projects. He has authored a book titled “Applied Thermodynamics”
Dr. Singh is highly qualified and holds the degree of D.Sc (Doctor of Science in Mgt). He is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and had his M Tech & Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering; he also possesses an International Executive Diploma in Project Management.
Post superannuation from DRDO, he served as an Emeritus Professor, consultant, and advisor in cutting-edge research fields, recognised with numerous awards, including the DRDO Technology Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards, and he continues to contribute to technological advancements and talent development.
